5Big Bouncy Book Of Bart!  May 08, 2006
By Luckydog "Luck"
This is the BEST simpsons comic book I've ever read out of all the others I have at home! If you buy this, you WILL love it! No doubt about it. And if you like this, then try the "Libary Of Wisdom: Ralph Wiggum" mini book. That was is SO, SO, funny!

3My sense of humor seems to be incompatible with that of "The Simpsons"  Dec 12, 2007
By Charles Ashbacher
I am no doubt one of the few people who have never seen a complete episode of "The Simpson's." I have watched snippets and certainly have heard people talk about it, so I posses a bit of knowledge about the show. Therefore, when I encountered this book and began reading, it was not done in a complete vacuum.
From the snippets that I have seen, my sense of humor is not very compatible with that of the show. That was reinforced by this book. The humor seemed bizarre, although I did appreciate the satirical elements. By far the best part of the book was the first part, "Legends of the Bartman Family." It was an absurd parody of both the superhero and secret agent genres. An elaborate plot involving children as superheroes, vast plots to either destroy or take over the world and bizarre teachers was hatched, all to get even with Bart for his pranks. While overboard, that is often the point of satire, so the satirical aspects were enough to make it worth reading.
While I did enjoy parts of the book, it certainly was not enough to entice me to watch an episode of the series. There were not enough elements of interest in this book to attract and maintain my attention.
